Horses,
mansions, tea parties, and lies are twenty-year-old Hannah Taylor’s
life. To others, her family and her relationship with Eric is perfect.
But she knows the truth. She lives it.
After a fire takes her grandma's life and kills her horse, Hannah's immaculate life spirals out of control. Her father disapproves of her decision to run her grandma’s ranch instead of focusing solely on learning the family business; Animal Control brings her Argus, a mistreated horse that she can't turn away even though she's not ready for another horse; and her boyfriend, Eric Bennett, a world famous polo player, becomes possessive and authoritarian. Despite her best efforts to disguise it, Hannah grows wary of him.
Then, Leonardo Fernandes struts onto the polo scene. A cocky rookie with a messy life of his own, he’s drawn to Hannah and isn’t afraid of showing it, even when Eric makes it clear she is his and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep it that way. Hannah suffers for Eric’s jealousy. The abuse only gets worse when Leo steals the title of best polo player in the world from Eric.
But the title isn’t enough for Leo. He wants Hannah too, and she can’t deny her attraction to him either. Somehow, she must find a way to break free from abusive Eric before he breaks every bone in her body.

Moving on after a tragedy can be impossible – especially when you’ve
been dealing with those tragedies for over two years. But it’s her senior year,
and Harley Anderson is more than ready to do just that, even though the
skeletons in her closet can’t exactly be hidden.
Enter Mason Daniel,
the egotistical, sexy, surfer boy from California – a boy with his own hidden
demons, and even bigger secret agenda.
Mason isn’t right for
Harley. He knows this better than anyone. He’s the epitome of a runner–a guy
who takes what he can get, only to split a short while later. But he can’t deny
the emotions that Harley brings out of him, so he’s going to break his rules
for once.
He should have known what it would lead to… Two kindred souls – both lost and then found. Will they fail, once again, in their search for contentment and happiness, or will they finally find true love, when it’s least expected?

After losing her fiancé to a freak accident, Alexia Riley decides to swear off relationships and focus her energy on conquering the male-dominated sport of professional poker.
When Alexia finds herself being visited in her dreams by a mysterious new man, she begins to wonder if her world is slowly starting to unravel around her.
Tested by a double-dealing nemesis on the tables and tempted by a mysterious "dream man", Alexia soon contemplates making a deal with the Devil to rid herself of these torments. What bargain will she strike with the Dark Prince to get what she wants? As temptation for a mysterious dream man weakens her resolve, a desire to defeat her greatest rival beckons her. Will she sacrifice her soul for victory? Love? Or does she want something else entirely?
The stakes have never been higher for Alexia than they are when she is bluffing the Devil.
About the Author-
CL Foster is a brand new writer with big dreams and lots of avenues she wants to travel.
Originally from Florida, she has lived all over the world, but has settled down in Pennsylvania.... for now! She has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, minoring in Psychology and Forensics. Which means you don't want to cross her because she knows how and where to hide a body so it's never found!
She proudly admits to hearing voices in her head, but at times, her characters' impromptu visits can be rude and annoying. Thankfully, she has adequate patience for their shenanigans and can out ninja them any day of the week.
And how about an excerpt, just to tease ya?
He slithered his way across the casino floor and instantly his predacious gaze locked onto me. In a spontaneous act of avoidance, I burrowed into the crowd a bit deeper and tunneled my way through the unsuspecting human-shields and headed toward the mock-safety of the elevators. Not that I am afraid of him, far from it, I just cannot stand cocky bastards that think they are God's gift to the game. Especially when it's obvious that the only reason he chats me up so often is he is trying to learn my strategy and make a place for himself as poker royalty. Not on my watch, chump. But wait, I am not prey in this situation! I am never going to be someone's doormat or stepping stone ever again! Resolve hit me suddenly and I pivoted on my heel quickly, nearly slamming into his eye-level chest. Man, he was fast! And tall, geez. When did he get so tall? How had I never noticed that before? Ahh yes, always sitting at a poker table and only having to deal with his consuming gazes. This was a new level of freak-out.
"Is there something I can help you with, Rey?" I said as I craned my neck to see the tower of man before me, "Or were you on a mad dash to bilk someone of their life savings or rob some unsuspecting college girl of her panties and possible virtue tonight?"
"You wound me, truffle." He drawled with his gorgeous Latin accented "r".
Seriously? What is up with everyone and their nicknames for me lately?
"I decided at the last moment to switch to this hotel so I could be away from the action over at Caesar's and as I was registering I couldn’t miss your glorious essence calling to me from the crowd."
As if I was "calling" to him? Pssh. As if!
"And I just had to come speak to you and make sure you are doing well. Are you busy? You seemed in a hurry."
Rey could fool most people into thinking he was innocent or sweet or whatever façade he wanted to wear today but I know poker players and I know men and he was not fooling me one bit. He always stayed at Caesar's, which was one of the most important reasons I never did. Had he followed me? There would be no point in that. I have to stop being so paranoid.
"I was in a hurry yes, I.. uh.. have a date." It was sort of the truth. I was planning on going to my room for a nap before the tournament and was also praying that I would have a few moments with my Dream Guy, that always settled my nerves and gave me a little something extra to smile about.
A flash of something crossed Rey's face. Amazingly, I couldn't decipher if it was anger, confusion, or some other emotion. Even though I have been training to read people's faces, actions, words, and other characteristics for years now, he somehow managed to show an emotion I hadn't seen before. Weird. Well-played, sir. Game on.

Pretty in Pink Presents: Author Interview with Heather Van Fleet
Ladies and gentleman, today I bring you the fabulous Heather Van Fleet debut author of When It's Least Expected. Let me just say, it has been a pleasure chatting with her and and getting to know her. She is a real delight and I sincerely hope she will come back again.
Without further ado, Ms. Van Fleet:
1. What made you want to write? Was it a book you read, a longtime passion, or just something you've always wanted to do etc?
Like a lot of authors out there, I really got inspired by the Twilight Series. Then I started reviewing books at a review site right after my three year old was born, and decided that heck, if they could do it, then so could I!
So I got my first laptop, I sat down when my babe was sleeping, and before I knew it, the words were just flowing out. I always created little stories when I was a kiddo and even into high school, but was never all that serious about it until later in life. Writing a novel was also a bucket list thing too, as well as way to prove to my girls that dreams could be achieved with a little bit of hard work and determination.
2. How did you feel when you knew you were going to publish your novel?
I was thrilled – And a little shocked to. I do believe I made my hubby read, and then re-read my emails at least three times before I actually accepted the truth. But honestly, I was a little stressed out about it as well, mainly due to the fact that I had three different houses want to publish When It’s Least Expected. And all of the offers came in within three hours of one another, so the decision making process took a bit of my immediate giddiness away. Still though, I was a very happy girl.
3. Will your series have recurring characters or is each book going to have different characters?
The Perfect Timing series will have a total of three books in it. When It’s Least Expected is Harley and Mason’s book. Book Two (entitled A Long Time Coming) is based on Harley’s twin brother David, and Harley’s best friend Abigail. And book three (untitled) will be Mason’s little sister’s story. I guess you could say I like to keep it in the family.
4. Most writers have a routine for when they write, what's yours like? Do you have a playlist?
I don’t really have a routine so to speak, more of these weird little writing quirks. For one, I have to have coffee to drink. It’s a BIG necessity. I’m thinking it has something to do with my tiny little caffeine obsession, but who knows really.
I only have two places that I can really get any writing work done. One is at my kitchen table, and the other is my friendly, neighborhood Starbucks.
I have three little girls, so when I do write it’s either during nap time or bed time. Otherwise I get way too distracted.
And then there’s my music. Ahh . . . I just love my music. I’ve sort of turned into a Spotify freak lately. I HAVE to have music to write by, otherwise my muse just disappears. I had three specific songs that became my go to songs for When It’s Least Expected. One was I Won’t Let Go by Rascal Flatts. Two was Disaster by JoJo. And number three was (and don’t laugh) Lets Stay Together by Al Green.
5. When will the next book in the series be published?
As of right now, A Long Time Coming is in a re-write stage, but it should be done by the end of the summer. And if all goes accordingly, I’m hoping for a winter release date but that also depends on my publisher too.
6. Who is your book crush, the one character you would love if he was real?
Oh yes, I loooove this question. I have so many book boyfriends that it’s not even funny. And the sad part is they are all at least ten or so years younger than I am. But number one would definitely be Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout. The other would be Travis from Beautiful Disaster/Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire.
7. Pepsi or coke? Lol
Hmm, well I can happily say that I am 6 weeks soda free now! Woot! Lol But when I was drinking pop, it was Pepsi – all the way. Coke always had this weird tendency to burn my throat.
8. Any advice for aspiring writers?
I would have to say, for one, grow a thick skin if you don’t already have one. There are a lot of people out there who are downright brutal when it comes to reviews, so if you’re sensitive and care about that stuff (like me) then you’ve got to try and remember why you are writing in the first place. And with every bad review, or negative comment, a good one is right around the corner.
Also, write the book that you want to read. If you love YA, write YA, if you love Erotica, or Vampires, write about them too. Don’t go with the mainstream, go with your heart.
9. What's your guilty pleasure?
White Chocolate Mocha’s from Starbucks and Buster Bars from Dairy queen. They are both so darn good – but so terrible for you too.
10. Who is your favorite author and your favorite book of all time?
My favorite book of all time is definitely the Fault in Our Stars by John Green (Can you just say devastatingly wonderful?) Ugh, I still cry when I read that book.
As far as favorite authors go? Hmm, well, I can’t just pick one . . . but I will pick three! Jennifer Armentrout, Karen Y. Bynum, and Kelly Gendron are my three personal faves.
11. What are you currently reading?
I just started reading the second book in a contemporary romance series called The Promise Harbor Wedding. The book is called Bolted and it’s written by Meg Benjamin. Very sexy and very sweet book
I’d like to giveaway an e-copy of my debut novel, When It’s Least Expected.
Also, I just wanted to say thanks to Natalie and Pretty in Pink Books and Reviews, for hosting me today! I had a blast and would love to come back again in the future to hang out!
